Just forwarding on the below message I just sent to the FSFE Potteries mailing list... just in case anyone from the LUG would be interested too!

Note to Meetup.com users... I don't think you'll EVER find FSF LibreLocal meetings on Meetup.com!  MEETUP.COM IS NOT FREE (as in FREEDOM) :P

FSFE meetings possibly might start going on there? (I've always avoided it so far)... but there has always been an argument over the absolutist v.s. pragmatist nature of FSF vs FSFE :)

Hello everyone!

Only just found out about this 2 days ago as I got an automated invite in my mailbox.

It seems that there will be a LibreLocal 2026 meetup in London this Saturday, May 16, 2026, 12:00-16:00 BST.

I had no idea about these events!  Apparently they now happen every May and only started last year... so if you're interested in FSFE Potteries running one too then let me know!  (perhaps 23rd or 30th could work for us?)

I've had a quick chat with the organiser of this London event (his name is Matthew) who seems nice enough, and told him about FSFE and the ILoveFS events... it seems he has heard of FSFE Potteries too :)

I do have some plans that day, but nothing I can't re-arrange so I'm tempted to nip down on the train after all...
