DNS servers...from Google?

Anybody else seen this:

Are there any real advantages to it? Bearing in mind that Google will
have an even closer eye on your surfing habits....

Ubuntu 9.10 just switches off!

I dual boot Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 on my Toshiba L40 Satellite laptop
with T2330 Dual core 1.6 GHz processor and 2GB RAM.
While booted into Ubuntu, it will suddenly go "click"! and immediately
switch off. It even did this once at the end of the install!
Needless to say it doesn't happen in Windows 7.
Anyone had any experience of this or know how to fix it?

iPod synching software?

Hi all. The old brain has turned to mush.... again. Can anybody tell
me what the open source software is that works with an iPod please? I
think it works on both Linux and Windows platforms and works as a
jukebox come mp3 player (media player too, but it isn't 'Media Player'
that I'm thinking of).
