Complete 1.2 GHz PC available
by Christopher Tidy
Hi folks,
I've been sorting and rationalising my computer equipment. I've built two
PCs from parts. One I'll be keeping and the other is now surplus.
Specifications of the surplus machine are:
- AMD Duron 1.2 GHz processor
- 256 MB RAM
- 40 GB hard disk
- 48x CD-Rom
- CD writer
- 10 Mb/s Ethernet
- Monitor (with speakers), keyboard and mouse
- Legitimate copy of Windows XP (with disc and COA)
- SuSE CD-Rom and manual
- Inkjet or laser printer if you want it
This machine would be ideal as a basic Linux box. Anyone need such a
machine? It's located in Edgmond, postcode TF10 8ES. I know it's not worth
a huge amount, but I spent most of a day building it. I'd be happy to do
someone a swap. Smallish things I'm looking for include:
- DVD writer
- SCSI hard disks >18 GB, also Zip disks
- ATX power supply, 350 W or larger
- USB card
- A big aluminium saucepan
- Vintage electric motors and pieces of engineering history
If you're interested, send me an e-mail. If you haven't got a swap, mail
me anyway. We can work something out. I want the computer to find a good
home as I hate waste.
Best wishes,
Chris

Re: [Staffslug] 10th May Meeting agenda.
by Adam Egan
Basically, unless the subject IS "daily digest..." - leave it the same if you are replying to a message.
If you are sending a new message on a new subject, and so not a reply, then by all means use a meaningful subject and others will reply with the same subject.
I believe russ has just sent a reply regarding your question :)
also, send mail to staffslug@ rather than a personal email address unless someone asks otherwise (i.e. Off record mails)
sorry for being a little pedantic about these things! I dont wish to be a pain! :p

So, if I'm responding to the daily digest I keep the subject the same. If I'm responding to any other email quoted in the daily digest email then I am to change the subject line to something more meaningful. Did I understand correctly? As an aside, do you know if Lucid and SUSE are going to be demo'd?
Cheers
Gary.

Gary,
can you please keep your message subject the same as the message you are replying to? It creates a new thread otherwise and the emails arent grouped together :(
