Open Source Exchange Alternatives
by Adam Egan
Hi Friends :)
I'm looking for an open source alternative to Zimbra. Up until now
I've been using Google Mail/Contacts/Calendar for my personal stuff,
but I'm going to be running my own business soon and I'm becoming less
and less fond of the idea that my data is not stored locally.
The basic features that I'm looking for are:
* Email (multiple mailboxes, aliases, groups etc)
* Calendar
* Accessible by browser
* Mobile Sync (Nokia N97)
* Easy data portability
* Open Source
For this reason, I was wondering if anybody on the list had any
experience with Zimbra? I would also be grateful for any suggestions
besides Zimbra that might suit my needs.
Hope everybody has had a good day :)

Free solar panels
by Jonathan Marriott
I mentioned this company to redbaron yesterday evening but I think there
will be interest elsewhere too so here's a link:
http://www.homesun.com/
They claim not to be operating around this area yet but if they expand their
operation it seems like a good deal to get!

Getting rid of a few pieces of computer stuff
by Jonothon Nihill
Hi all!
I'm trying to free a bit of space up so need to get rid of a few pieces of
computer stuff that is clogging up the draws in my desk so if anyone wants
any of it let me know!
First of all I have a three bay sata drive caddy the type that mounts in the
front of your computer. It is apparently hot-swappable but I've never used
it.
Next are some bits and pieces from a laptop that I broke down after the
power port broke on it:
1 x 120gb 2.5" sata hard-drive
2 x 512mb ddr2 5300 ram sticks
1 x Intel Pentium processor T2060 (link here for
specs<http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=28021>
)
1 x Broadcom mini-pci wireless card (linky
here<http://www.modem-help.co.uk/Broadcom/BCM94318MPG-Mini-PCI-Reference-NIC.html>)
- It does work under linux I've successfully used it with Debian before now
1 x Pioneer dvr0k17rs - multi function dvd/cd writer
whoever wants these let me know!

* I've seen reports of Debian running on it
2. AIX books
'AIX Survival Guide'
'AIX for breakfast'
some AIX 4.3 documentation
Some service manuals
3. Sony 17" monitor HMD-A200 Trinitron

All this can be seen in Stafford.
Anyone interested ?

Re: [Staffslug] Shibboleth IDP on ubuntu 10.4 LTS deployment of war
by Martin Griffiths
Hi, i am new to the group, so apologies for hijacking a previous thread
I am running ubuntu 10.4 LTS , hosting my schools website, moodle server,
mahara and drupal.
My local authority is having issues providing me with shibboleth
authentication so i have decided to go it alone.
My machine authenticate against all users on my microsoft network, as i am
testing squirrelmail at the moment, and my students host websites on this
linux server too. Using the LDAP username and password.
I am therefore trying to configure Shibboleth IDP on this machine, i seem to
have followed the instructions below (i can only find them for tomcat 5.5 -
whilst i have tomcat 6 natively installed)
"http://www.edugate.ie/workshop-guides/shibboleth-2-identity-provider-inst..."
I am unable to deploy my IDP WAR file correctly or i think that is the issue
it keeps telling me the context path is incorrect.
"FAIL - Application at context path /idp could not be started".
I know its quite a specific error.
Any help would be appreciated
