Old Hardware

Hello.
Quick question, I have a bit of old computer bits up in the loft, which
I don't think I'm ever going to use, so..
- Is there any charity etc that takes old hardware for re-use?
- Is there anyone on the list looking for old hardware.
If I remember correctly, I've got a motherboard, memory, graphics
card(maybe cards) and an old PSU.

Crash Bang Wallop - Ubuntu 11.10

Hello all.
Quick question. What's the best way to diagnose a kernel panic on
start up?
I've got Ubuntu 11.10 and every so often, I get a kernel panic a few
time in a row, then back to normal without issue for a number of time
(could be a couple of weeks), then it happens again.
I have tried trying thing in certain sequences, but can't find the
answer, so was just wondering what the best next steps would be?

February's meeting is planned to be at Novaho on Tuesday 6th February (the
day has had to be changed due to availability of the venue).
The theme for this meeting will be virtualisation. I believe Steven Maddox
will be talking about various virtualisation platforms (see earlier list
posts).
The start time is generally between 18:30-19:00.

Google vs Open Source

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for so many posts this evening, last one I promise.
First of all, as I'm sure everyone is aware, Google have simplified their
Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and applied them universally to most of
their services.
There is one particular paragraph in there which basically says... any data
you submit into a Google service, although you still own it - you give
irrevocable ultimate rights to it to Google.
What I want to know and hopefully start a discussion about is:
A) Is that enough to turn you away from Google?
B) If you're a user of Google Mail, Calendar, etc... what alternatives do
you use? Particularly interesting would be self-hosted open source
solutions... but it is nice to hear about new/innovative upcoming websites
too.
In my opinion... I would like to move away from Google as soon as possible.
I do however need to find a setup (preferably open source) that mimics the
functionality of GMail, G Calendar... and allows syncing to mobile devices
etc.

Videos/Website/Meetings

In an effort to increase the amount of content on the website, I'm hoping
to be able to video some things from some of the technical meetings. If you
have anything that is remotely video-worthy (please, not in a You've Been
Framed sort of way) then please come along.
I would also like to ask if anybody on the list has written any Linux/UNIX
guides or articles that we can link to or perhaps host.

Mailman

Hi all,
Anyone with any Mailman experience around?
Trying to configure it at the moment... when I send an email to the list I
get a reply saying 'local delivery failed' and in the exim log I find
'mailman exited with error code 2' ?
