Ah, I must have missed that conversation. HP have been doing a range
of very nice spec notebook PCs for some time now. WiFi included of
course. They run Ubuntu and everyhting, yes everything just works out
of the box. Sorry, I don't have an URL as I found out about these
from a HP flyer. I'm sure that a quick search would turn up the goods
though.
There is also a rather good website here in the UK who sell (at a
decent price) guaranteed to work with Linux (kernel 2.6*) hardware:
