Linux Support Administrator - Walsall, West Midlands. A BRILLIANT
opportunity here for a top technology based firm. Newly created role!
Previous Linux knowledge a MUST.

Our client is currently recruiting a Linux Support Engineer to work in the
Technical Support department and provide support at all levels of the
internal infrastructure and also their customers. Duties will include:

Delivery of web based, e-mail and telephone support for OS and software
issues
Performing scheduled tasks and regular server administration tasks
Handling emergency interventions, as they are raised by customers
Providing feedback and reporting to management regarding overall quality
of service
Requirements

An in-depth knowledge of Linux based operating systems is essential, as
are excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The successful
candidate must be able to write automation scripts in at least one
relevant scripting language (for example Shell, Perl, Python) and must be
familiar with open source applications. A good understanding of networking
protocols and SQL language is also highly desirable, as is experience of
working with Asterisk, OpenSER/Kamailio, DRBD/HA etc is all useful.
