Andrew, Thanks, a brilliant idea. I've loads of hard drive space so can look at other distros. I got it on line again today but theres some problem with the modem driver. I have to run eaglestat which then tells me to use -d command. The modem then comes on but I have to reset the conn settings all the time. Don't know what's going on. I seem to do a lot of hit and miss experimenting. How to I find logs and mail them to you? Maybe you can throw some light on it. Stuart
