Nokia won't release any more phones based on Maemo.
Which means any new phone due will have to be based on MeeGo... which
changes the whole game really... the base system is totally different,
main toolkit is changed to Qt (but you can still use Gtk+ based stuff),
the graphical interface is different, rpm based not deb which has me
thoroughly pissed off.
However there's lots of bleeding edge stuff in MeeGo like how it uses
Btrfs which is no where near ready in my opinion. So I hope we don't
see MeeGo until the middle of next year if not later and let the N900
and Maemo rule the roost for a bit.
If it is that another one is ready middle of next year (only a guess)
then that is good for me as my 18 months finish then and I can sell my
soul to another phone company for the next model :)
I certainly don't think any new Linux Nokia phone will be released by
the end of September.

Oh dear :P whatever have I started!
It's certainly made my mind up though. If there are no announcements
of a successor between now and September, I'll be going for it as a
business phone. Going to get it on Vodafone as Orange don't do it. Not
so bad to have business and personal with different companies anyhow.
