it's a tarball gzipped source file, there aren't any mandriva rpms on rpmfind, i don't know much about mandrake other than it has it's own updater, perhaps you can try that - i hear it's similar to apt<br><br><br><div><span class="gmail_quote">

Hi, hope you had a good easter. I've just noticed that my Mandriva
distro has an ancient version of Firefox. I have downloaded the current
version and it is now sitting in my desktop. It's not an rpm package (I
don't think) how do I install it? The instructions say 'Extract the
tarball in the directory where you want to install firefox:&nbsp; tar
-xsvf firefox-1.5.0.2.tar.gz'<br>
This will create a firefox subdirectory of that directory.<br>
