Again, it depends on which driver you're using - I presume it's not the
latest 256.x series, though if it is you should probably think about
filing a bug, along with the monitor's EDID data (I believe there are
tools to dump this out to a text file).
Alternatively, give Nouveau a try and see whether or not open-source
works better for you. :)
