You see, Linux wont boot with bad gear in the machine, Windows, on the other hand will...causing you to be able to loose data etc. Windows just ignores the errors.

To be fair Kris is closer to the truth, having spent a couple of hours
on some IRC channels it would appear that the Fuji's are a bit
notorious in being flaky when it comes to Linux.

However so far I've been advised to try the apci=no option along with
some others
