There is a position available at my place of work. Assistant ICT technician.

I'm mentioning it here because we use some Linux in the network. We use live CDs to rescue documents when windows barfs. I have a box running Ubuntu server for LAMP applications, specifically MRBS. I've also got my hands on decent server hardware to use for a Linux based backup system (and more besides if I get my way)

It's low paid I'm afraid but is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in IT support across a variety of platforms (Servers, desktops, laptops, wireless and Ethernet networks, multimedia equipment, backup, antivirus, user management etc etc). It would also suit someone for whom pay is not their 1st priority but wants varied and rewarding work. It's also school term time only.

Here is a link to the ad. Closes Friday.

What an excellent opportunity, as you say the pay is a little low plus the 'Term Time Only' is a bit off putting but this would, you say, be a good way to gain experiance.

Arch Linux is an independent i686-optimized community distribution for intermediate and advanced Linux users. Utilising a Rolling Release System packages are regularly updated and an ISO release is just a snapshot to the stable packages at that time. So there's no need for a fresh install the command 'pacman –Syu' upgrades the whole system.
