I've got Xubuntu running on an oldish PC. I have to say I am
really
enjoying the experience. However, I have a question for the team...
As the PC is booting I get a message flag up about the BIOS being past
the cut date for 2000 (what cutoff?) and I 'apparently' need to do
ACPI=force. Ok, I can do that...but where? Is this in a GRUB file
somewhere? Is it likely to be just hashed out or will I need to type
it in? If the latter is there a specific line that it needs to be
entered on for it to take effect?
Kev.
boot>grub>menu.lst
Add it to the first line.
- it prolly already says acpi=on or off. just edit that as root and save.
