They can't win. They get slated for putting late-beta code in (firefox 3) get they get criticised when they (allegedly) dont include an _entire_ _desktop_ which is nowhere near finished, with many apps unported. KDE4 is of course in the repo, and there is a KDE4 Ubuntu CD which you can get from shipit (I have some). In addition if you prefer Firefox 2 you can install that on Hardy, and switch to FF3 when it/you are ready. What would you do? Release Hardy with firefox 2 that would have no support from Mozilla in a year or so, meaning Canonical would have to maintain it themselves? Perhaps include KDE4 (which most definitely _isn't_ ready), when AIUI Canonical have _one_ emloyee who deals with KDE for Ubuntu? Cheers, Al.
