dapper drake does look like a new path for ubuntu perhaps, although i
haven't tried it yet... they may be aiming towards corporate measures
with this campaign on the community!

I'll root through my bookmarks about this. I too was confused. Yes,
the only differences are indeed the different desktops. However, it's
easy to install KDE onto Ubuntu (or vice versa) and have a choice.
