considering i'm in stafford during the day - there wouldn't be much
point coming back and forth, wasting time etc etc ... buses to stoke
stop at around 6pm too i believe

Not sure if its an option but there seems to be trains between Stafford & Stoke for
about £5.30 - seems a bit pricey for such a short trip - almost as much as a bus in the
same direction! :-)
(Just an idea - assuming its probably already been considered though!)
