Some queries:
- Have you tried a Linux initiator yet? Bonnie++ results if you do :)
- Assuming Gigabit Ethernet, what about jumbo frames?
Have you seen Etherboot[1] at all? If you've got your iSCSI target
running, you might like the idea of a diskless thin client.
