He's probably new to lists and accidentally subscribed to the digest.
I did reply about this to his original email - perhaps due to the
nature of the digest he hasn't seen it.
Don't let this be an issue, perhaps you could consider sending an
off-list email detailing how to change from digest to regular list
subscription?
