Has anyone else had similar experience?
Not really. I'm running 9.04 on my desktop (largely due to apathy, I
haven't got around to upgrading yet). About a month ago, work gave me
a HP Mini 311 laptop and asked me to dual-boot (it was supplied with
Windows XP). It looked like getting 9.04 working on it was going to be
a bit of a pain [1], so I waited for 9.10 and installed that.
I've had two issues:
1. Random failure to boot [2], fixed by installing the restricted wifi driver
2. I usually keep sound muted, but after a suspend/resume, it's no
longer muted [3]
Issue 1 wasn't difficult to fix - the restricted drivers applet worked
for me. Apparently issue 2 is intentional, because the other option is
likely to cause loud pops on suspend/resume. I tried the suggested
workaround, but boot/login times were longer. For now, at least, I've
decided to not use the workaround.
