It will be a simple matter of clicking a couple of buttons and I'm hoping it will be fairly intuitive at this stage (fingers crossed). Look out for any check boxes that say something like autocheck dependencies. See how far you get with this. If it is not clear please say so and I'll see if I have a drive with Mandriva on it still somewhere. If I do I will run through the instructions step by step properly. Unless somebody can help out here??? As I've typed all of that I have this thought foming that you should in fact be able to install the software you have in this manner anyway. This would be where that autocheck dependencies comes in as it will automatically install gcc and any other dependencies.
