Hmmm, do I like the latest Kubuntu? As you know, I installed 7.04 on
a spare PC yesterday afternoon. I went on a treat and runs reasonable
quickly (AMD AthlonXP 1800 with 356mb of 2100 DDR RAM). What I don't
like is that it is not easy to work out how to actually install new
(other software) and when it does there is no indication of it having
done so. I also found that I needed to log out and back in for a
couple of things. I'm not too used to that with Linux. Yes, for
Windows it's the norm' but I didn't even get any indication that I
needed to do this :-( I didn't think the installation had actually
worked!!!!!
Apart from the above I'm going to persevere a bit longer as this looks
rather interesting... I do have a couple of very similar machines
(Intel CPU's instead of AMD and less RAM but that's cheap enough to
get) that I may try other distro's on. Arch could well be one of them
:-) Dick, I may be calling in you :-) while the other I'd like to see
if I can get either Slackware or Gentoo running on it.
