I've run Debian (Sarge, then Woody) and Ubuntu (Dapper) on it with no
problems. Neither had a GUI installed, it was all command-line. Ubuntu
was installed as a LAMP server (I just chose the LAMP option when
installing)
Indeed. Managing without a GUI will improve performance a lot.
