They do say that Linux is all about change and options. Well, here's
me, a died in the wool rock solid KDE fan. I've just downloaded
today's Debian Lenny release. It comes with Gnome as the standard
desktop environment... and..... I like it :-/ It has a certain
clarity that can sometimes be lacking in KDE. I still prefer the
'look' of KDE but Gnome is very, very nice now.
Oh, It's gone onto a Compaq ML 330e server and has installed just
wonderfully. If it performs well (as in I can run it as server) then
I may treat it to some memory upgrades. It's currently got 2x64mb
modules and a 128mb module giving 256mb in total of course. It can
take the lofty amount of 2gb :-) trouble is, being a server it's
pricey stuff at around £60 for a 512mb module and it's only PC133.
