Dear All,
Firstly, thank you to all those that attended, and yes I managed to find
my way back to the M6!!
My apologies for not even attempting to turn up. I do have a good
excuse though... I have had a nasty bacterial infection in my eyes for
the last about 3 or 4 weeks now. It's just not safe for me to drive
and my eyes are very sore anyway. Thankfully they are on the mend.
Right, on to business.
5. A sort of code of conduct when responding to questions i.e. avoid
responding with just RTFM as it's the best way to scare people off!
IMHO anybody who simply types in RTFM nowadays should be booted off
any Linux list. I have zero tolerance for that sort of arrogant
attitude. I saw enough of it in the mid 90's and it was totally
uncalled for then. There ae far better and more polite ways of
directing newcomers to sources of information. Actually, grumpy old
Dick Turpin is very good at this. Yes, he does have a good way with
words when it comes to newcomers :-)
