Re: [Staffslug] Google vs Open Source

Hi Everyone, Sorry for so many posts this evening, last one I promise. First of all, as I'm sure everyone is aware, Google have simplified their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and applied them universally to most of their services. There is one particular paragraph in there which basically says... any data you submit into a Google service, although you still own it - you give irrevocable ultimate rights to it to Google. What I want to know and hopefully start a discussion about is: A) Is that enough to turn you away from Google? B) If you're a user of Google Mail, Calendar, etc... what alternatives do you use? Particularly interesting would be self-hosted open source solutions... but it is nice to hear about new/innovative upcoming websites too. In my opinion... I would like to move away from Google as soon as possible.
