There is somebody on there who is currently dabbling with VMWare.
They need some pointers and a little interLUG co-operation can go a
long way :-)
Of course not - even write a summary on the website.
I'm quite interested in having a go at quemu myself. I
haven't
dabbled at all in this form of imaging an OS so it will be new
territory for me.
qemu took me 5 mins from start to booting the linux.img?

VMWare. There are a number of ready made disk (operating system)
images ready built on the VMWare site. I think the links are on the
right hand side but if not they are certainly easy to find.
