Yeah, if I remember correctly, there are packages named something like
KDE-desktop, GNOME-desktop and XFCE-desktop. We got XUbuntu Hoary on
our laptop by installing Ubuntu (GNOME was *very* slow with 64MB RAM!)
then installing the XFCE-desktop package.
