Thanks for getting back to me bored Ant! Its really nice to here from you again.  Thanks for the replies.  I don't have any problems with Rhythmn box or utube but I have never listened to one straight after the other but I have lost the sound in u tube before in fact I lost the whole lot after trying to alter the preferences for various sounds but I managed to get them back by installing esound but if I go to a web site and expect to hear a commentary or something I don't hear anything-its not vital but it just bugs me-the other thing with the sound is I get the little ubuntu tune when I boot up my laptop and all the beeps etc etc but if I go to preferences then the test sounds don't work.  These things are not major but you know when you just can't fix something! I think maybe its just one of those little idiosyncracies of Linux-I am getting used to it now. Allow them if you trust the site + if they are require for the functionality of the site, else just ignore them. 2. Who's ur web mail provider, google?
