Out of interest, and not wishing to start any flame wars, but why are
you more sorry to see women give up than men? It's sort of a pet topic
of mine, and I'm always interested in differing viewpoints.

Possibly because of the misperception that the majority of Linux users
are spotty faced, male, geeks. To be fair, men do outnumber the women
in Linux (and other open source) circles. so, I see where the OP is
coming from. I don't see it as a sexist comment or anything just a
genuinely sad reflection.
