I'd thought along the lines of this intial meeting as being more

social gathering with a general Linuxy flavour to the chit chat.
indeed :-)
As for recognising.. how about I give everybody my mobile number and
then as everybody arrives they give me a quick call and I can wave
them in..so to speak.
Whatever happened to carnations?
