To be honest I've always 'paid' for my SuSE (Apart from one or two boxes that I/Kevan won) I made a deliberate decision to run at least one 'paid for' distribution when I first got into Linux, I personally have no problem in paying 50% less for a comparable product to MS or MAC I would probably even be prepared to 'Make a Donation' of £3 or £4 to download a distribution.
