well as the new member i find it slightly amusing, but also a bit sad too. but then i also found the response from someone when pre-arranged IRC meet was suggested was quite bewildering, something about it not being on their terms LOL.

the wonderful thing about linux is you can choose you level of involvement now, you can distro-hop til you find something that is easy as clicking an install button, but then on that very same o/s you can learn exactly whats going on with you system and choose to see things on that level.

and i wouldn't be afraid to ask for help on here, but i probably would goto UbuntuForums first, as thats just where i usually go when googling doesn't give any reward simply for the fact that there are so many people on there, so generally you get good rounded answers. also, i much prefer the forum format than mailing lists.
