Re: [Staffslug] Kubuntu 9.10

I installed Ubuntu 9.1 on an AMD Sempron pc to see what it looked like. It took 3 attempts before it worked. In fact I ended up using the 'live' boot and then installed Ubuntu from there which sorted most of the problems. Its fast and seems to be stable, so far anyway. One thing I noticed, which is in direct contrast to Gordon's experience, Win7 access is extremely good. Samba even works perfectly with admin shares (c$) and it stores the password so I can open the share immediately through a shortcut even after a reboot. So, Win7 security seems to be pretty ropey.
