though of Character Checking, I wouldn't be at all suprised if the
goverment made ISPs perform character checks on customers in
preventing known or convicted peodophiles from having access to
children/or looking at child pornography. This may even happen in the
US with known illegal filesharers, the RIAA are very paranoid and
could probabily get something like this passed through congress (crazy
yanks).
The government, through the courts, can already ban paedophiles from
having net access :-) Now that is an example where censorship is a
good thing. It is done properly though and after thorough
deliberation.
Arbitrary censorship is bad.
