OK... so it suddenly occured to me...the LfC scheme is
great..but....where does it need promoting.
We have talked about it on this mailing list yes...but anyone on here
who has a problem with linux would just post here or be able to work it
out them selves.
My question is where should we be promoting this elsewhere so that some
of us get some chocolate and where should we be trying to promote this?
Actually that's secondary. IMO a site with content needs creating 1st then sacrificial members to metaphorically sign up ready for those all important questions;
"I've just got a black screen with white writing, I typed my user name and password but I don't think I'm logged in all I've got is the black background with lots of white text and a blinking curser?"
Once that's all in place then we all blog about it on our sites, email Linux Format etc, LugRadio post on any of the other lists and forums we are members of. Do I need to go on?
Does it tie in with promoting FOSS?? (God PLEASE dont kill me for asking
that! Little bit of a misunderstanding last time i asked something
about promoting FOSS cause it sounded a bit accusationary)
"Sound of a rock hard bar of fruit & nut bouncing off Joe's forehead"
I've said it before.
"Just by using Linux you are promoting OSS" the clue is in the word 'promote' to move forward, to increase, to advance.
Every new user of FOSS is in effect promoting it even if the machine they have installed it on is Windows.
But hey I applaud you waving the FOSS flag :-)
