You mentioning 'plan'. Poundland have Plan 9 From Outer
Space on DVD
at the moment. The Linux tie in (sort of, well it's UNIXy) is that
Plan 9 was named after the film. Plan 9 being an OS of course. The
film has to be one of the absolute worst ever 'B' movies. It has to
be watched to be seen how bad it is :-)
Actually Plan9 has a stronger link to GNU/Linux than to UNIX.
It's from Plan9 that we inherit all those lovely plain
text files in /etc that make admin so much less painful.
UNIX in the 70s/80s had a fair few of binary config files istr.
