I personally don't see the point in moving...
1) Connecting is much quicker - feel free to try yourself.
Not sure this is really a big issue unless you're having an IRC connection race?
2) There are less channels to use, however for our users convenience
we will appear clearly in the /list
I don't remember looking at /list for any server in the past couple of years :/
3) The network is hosted mainly in the UK, which eliminates latency to
some extent
Anybody connecting to Freenode in the UK should be connecting to a UK
server anyway?

Sorry Andrew I completely missed that. In that case then I don't see why
not. Especially if it runs a.bit faster.
