My thoughts are pretty much the same as Adam's: that it's a "thin end of
the wedge" type of thing. I suspect the next move from the entertainment
industry will be to complain that court orders take too long and that
they should be able to get things blocked on their say-so alone.
The blocks are easy to circumvent because ISPs are doing the minimum
required to comply with the court order. Blocking sites is not in their
interest: It costs them money and if it puts people of downloading they
will sell less high speed broadband connections.
Andy is correct: complaints should be directed at the politicians.

To anyone who doesn't know how to get round it... it can be as simple as
changing your DNS servers to Google/OpenDNS... or you might want to try a
web proxy or vpn like btguard. Might not be relevant now but I personally
fear that if they get away with blocking one website, they'll get
comfortable doing it.
