[Staffslug] Compiz fusion

Ok, so I've got Compiz fusion installed on my Kubuntu 7.10 box. It seems to be there, well, I have the control panel bit and I've set it for rotating cube... so why doesn't it work I wonder? Any ideas? I have restarted the x-server (logged out and did it rather than pressing the F key because I forgot which one it was). I do have 3d rendering enabled as I get the Nvidia splash screen come on just after rebooting the x-server. Do I need to do a complete system reboot though? Are there kernel bits that need to start?
