I think an important thing to remember when talking to people about
linux is not to come across as high and mighty. I tend to find that
within my social circle explaining why open source in general is better
for users is WAY better.

In one respect I would agree with you Andrew. Yes, Linux is pretty
much 'in your face' in places like Dixons, Currys etc. But, I have to
ask myself if that awareness is actually because we know about Linux
and when we see it on a netbook it hits us in the face. I actually
have my doubts. I think that out of every ten people you'd ask in the
street only about two or possibly three would have heard of Linux and
one possibly uses it (as far as they are aware).
I'm fully with you about assisting users to migrate to a far superior
operating system though :-)
Oh, just got back from The Mailbox in B'ham. I needed to check my
route for tomorrow being as I am bieng interviewed live in the studio
on BBC Radio WM :-)
