I agree with steve on having more meetings at alternative places maybe in
thr north of the county would be brilliant. It would make it so much easier
for someone like myself who doesnt drive and has to rely on public
transport, Getting back from stafford on a bus is a nice journey for those
that enjoy sitting on a bus growing piles for twenty million hours :P
I jest a little but having a local meeting with people that live just a few
miles away might foster a surge in growth for the LUG
btw happy christmas slugs, watch out for salt :P

Lo,
One idea I have been circling around is an additional social meeting in
the north of the county. There does seem to be a good number of people
(and these are just who I know of the top of my head) who live in north
staffordshire...

Four of those guys (including myself) actually used to go to the short
lived Keele LUG I tried to help run last year but there just wasn't enough
interest, and three of them went to the December social.
I've noticed the Stafford based Technical and Social meetings have been on
the 2nd Monday of each month. I propose a Stoke based Social meeting on
the 3rd Monday on the months where we don't have a Stafford social meeting
(so a week after each Stafford based Technical). So the first two dates
would be the 17th January and 21st March.
I'm also thinking it's best not to play the whole Hanley vs Newcastle game
and instead maybe do this in Stoke (as in Stoke-upon-Trent) especially
since it's got a train station for anyone in Stafford who may want to
quickly get up here.
Two ideas (both have excellent Real Ale)...

It is entirely pointless to have another LUG (the Keele LUG was mainly
meant for University staff and students anyway). So it's probably best to
consider this proposal as just a sub-branch of StaffsLUG... translation...
more excuses for a pint :P
Any thoughts?
