On the subject of partitioning, boot sectors, etc. I've got thre hdd.
I need a small w*n part, my main PCLinuxOS and room to play
distro-hopping. I can't understand how to sort out the bootloader.
I've got some info (that I don't understand fully) on using the XP
bootloader to find the others but it seems complicated. Is there a
"stand alone" boot loader? Is there way to do it by point'n'click to
avoid the command line boogie?

Sorry Stuart, I did say I'd take a look to see what I could find.
Unfortunately one bad ear infection later and everything goes topsy
turvy :-(((
However, you might like to take a look at this page:
http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/grub/grub.htm
I have to state here and now that I do not know a great deal about
GRUB other than what the various distros do it with and that it
enables Linux to boot etc, etc.
So, I'm shackled to finding tutorials etc. Which, on that subject I
have just found another:
http://tinyurl.com/uxfw7
that one is IBM's tutorial. The IBM Linux tutorials are usually
pretty good but a touch technical in their wording sometimes.
