Since it's got a hard disc you might get away with Puppy Linux. Otherwise
Damn Small Linux would be worth a try.

Hello all,
I've just dug out an old laptop and was wondering which distro would be
good for it?
If possible I was hoping to have a distro that provided a live CD as well.
The spec of the laptop is:
Processor: P2 266
Memory: 64Mb
H/D: 4Gb
Only has a CD drive and floppy disk, so no DVD based distro's sadly
