Laptop internet access on 192.168.1.*
The printer is just on 192.168.0.* because that's my old set-up.
I could change the IP on the printer to be on the 192.168.1.*, but wasn't
sure if the network cards (WiFi / Ethernet) would get upset if they were
both on the same subnet.

There is something silly here so tell us, do you have internet access
from
the laptop on 192.168.0.* via the router on 192.168.1.* ?

It would indeed, but sadly the router is downstairs where the phone line
is and the printer is upstairs.
