Hi Frank,
I don't live nr. Crew, but nr. Cheadle Staffs. That's not a problem, though
I can stick a couple of 80 core PATA cables in the post to you if you ever
need any in the future. Use my email address: walt(a)helvatron.co.uk if you
prefer to make direct contact. I used to fix and build these things by the
hundreds so I still have some old stock but I am gradually getting shot of
it all now.
Best regards, Walt
PS: Ebay is always a good place to go for low-cost pc bits.

Subject: [Staffslug] PATA Hardware Supplies
Hi Walt:
Thanks for the offer. Do you live anywhere near Crewe? Though I probably
don't
need another cable. I have a UDMA-66 DVD Drive on an 80-Core PATA Cable and
a
UDMA-33 DVD Drive on a 40-Core PATA Cable. They have separate IDE Channels
because my Hard Drive is SATA, and they seem to configure correctly. I was
just giving an example of something I'd been looking for a while back.
And "Computer Technology" seem to have some on their Website now anyway.
I'm into checking out local suppliers who stock all the bits for building my
own machine. And if I never get round to that ambition, the same people
could
also sell upgradeable machines of their own.
Yours truly: Frank Mitchell

Frank, I can give a few used 80-core PATA cables if you are stuck.
