Kevan,
You're wrong :P I'd say that alcohol is worse the more it is
developed.. Off licences have more different coloured drinks in them
than sweet shops, and the majority of them taste crap! Don't know what
was wrong with pure and simple beer (no not lager!)..
I did say this " Everything (I think...)
gets better as it is developed further."
The key bit was in the 'I think...' bit :-) No doubt we could easily
come up with a lot more examples. As for ale, well, I like 'good'
lager but I prefer a decent real ale. Especially that which I brew
myself.
If you take your example of our solar panels being brilliant
compared
to 20 years ago.. that means that if in 15 years, a new brilliant
solar panel comes out.. I'm still stuck with my old crap free one for
another 10 years :( At least if you have bought it yourself you can
sell/replace it - not to mention profit from it.
Hmmm, compare that to the old laptop from 15 years ago. How much
would you get for that? If you could even sell it. That's fairly
true of technology as it gets outdated. Unless it becomes
nostalgically collectable of course.
