I want to try migrating to my own mail system but the spam is just
frustrating to say the least.
I've been managing my own complicated mail delivery setup for
more years than I can count.
My current setup has MX records for all the domains I have
pointing at my Linode server, where I have qpsmtpd running to
filter out all the blacklisted spamming hosts.
qpsmtpd than relays through postfix on the localhost, which
in turn relays to my ISP's mail servers.
I have a fetchmail process on my local server that picks up
email from my ISP and sends it to sendmail running locally.
sendmail processes all email received through dspam,
which does a much better good of filtering out spam than
spamassassin ever did. Finally it gets delivered to my
local mailboxen.
And then I read it using mutt >:)
