It did seem a bit funny that someone was asking for working laptops
preloaded with applications that could be found useful in a business
environment, i dunno...maybe they are trying to get something for
themselves? maybe?
who knows?

I'm not against the idea of getting unused/unwanted but still usable
kit to the third world countries. I am very wary of organisations
that, on the face of it, seem very good for humankind...but are they?
Or are they out to make a fast buck off the backs of the already poor
and needy? If they can be proven to be answerable to somebody other
than the company's shareholders then I'd look at them more favourably.
As I have already stated, I come across this sort of outfit a great
deal with my work on Freecycle(r). There are an awful lot out there
pretending to be charity's when they are not. How many times recently
have you polythene bags stuffed through your letterbox asking for old
clothing or goods? It may mention St Ormond's Street Children's
Hospital or even a local hospice. They are all very clever and you
think you are giving to a charity. Well, they are 9 times out of 10
nothing to do with any charity. They take the clothing and resell the
good stuff on eBay or elsewhere while the rubbish gets sold on to
industrial rag companies.
