iptables has to be added to pretty much every generic kernel before it
can be used as far as i remember, it's a simple add.. there's a guide
on gentoo-wiki.com (or org?) haven't looked at it for about a year,
sorry!

I thought IPTables was built into the kernel anyway? Or have I got
